Touching up stone chips / chips in the paint..?

As simple as it sounds… is there a right way / better way to touch up stone chips other then getting a bottle of touch up and then using the brush to dap the paint on..???

It just seems that the paint in the touch-up bottle is too thick and just kind of bloops on the chip that you are trying to cover.

Any input is appreciated.

The stuff i have is very thin? got it from the dealer..

I just covered one on my bumper.. clean the area in and around the chip, then throw a few VERY THIN coats of the paint on with the brush and you'll be all set. I fd it up the first time around and had to wipe it off quick with a towel.. it pooled up like you said.

Get a Dr Colorchip kit. Much better results than just the dab on some touchup paint approach and it is easy. With a little practice in the stage where you wipe off the excess paint, you can get a near perfect, level chip fill.

Trick is to make sure area is clean, and wax free. Sometimes getting a fine art brush will make application easier. Like others have said, many thin coats, with time to dry between. The better paint chip kits have some clear along with it. The colour is not the same if you don't add a clear coat afterwards.
