XM radio help...

Ok guys, im looking into adding XM radio into my pickup truck. I have OEM navigation (installed by myself) with the GMX550 lock pick running my ipod off of it. The truck is a LT w/ on star and everything but no XM module behind the glovebox. I ended up finding a XM module from a friend of mine that came out of his '08 Tahoe, it has the harness plug in and the antenna plug in still plugged into the module even but they're cut after about 6 inches. Therefore i was wondering if there is a way to install the XM module into my truck without buying the fancy XM kit off of eBay since i have everything for it already? (do i need another antenna? or will my GPS antenna under the dash or the roofmounted antenna suffice for this? how do i wire the module into my radio?

any help with this would be really appreciated as ive been searching everywhere trying to find some info on it.

Thanks!

You might as well not even bother with that module. All XM modules are locked to a VIN once installed and power is applied. Essentially the same as Theft lock for the radio BUT this type of lock CANNOT be cleared at all by any dealer. I understand there is a company that can do it but the price is up there. It is not as simple as pulling one from a vehicle and installing it into another.

oh seriously? There's no way to use a module from a doner vehicle for the project? Thats weird, i figured it'd be a take it to the dealer type situation...
