2003 Tahoe 4x4, "rear access open", location of pink/black wir

Hi,

I have searched and read a lot about this problem (rear access open) and I am now trying to locate the specific pink/black wire under the steering column.

I have read that if I connect this wire to ground, and still get the message "rear access open" on det dash, I will have to replace the BCM.

My problem is that I can't find this wire, I find a lot of pink and pink/white wires, but no pink/black. Seems like I will need a wiring diagram for this car, to see if the wire color is changed somewhere.

 

Can anyone help ?

where is this wire from? and where does it go ?,no one is responding because of that ,i can help but i need more info.

 

did you check the hatch switch/latch first ?

 

the message is on while driving and rear hatch is closed right ?

The switch has been replaced, also the latch and even the vipermotor, problem is still there.

Need to locate the same wire that goes into the BCM, then I can ground it, if still a problem, I need a new BCM.

 

The wire goes all the way from the tailgate and to the BCM.

Still searching for the wire on the BCM, maybe I need to strip the car to follow the wire from tailgate to the front of the car.

no ,thats not how its done ,you find a connector locator for the BCM,you are looking for C6(connector 6) terminal A1

 

he connector has small numbers on the indicating terminal location

My next question was what c6 and a1 was referring to, but now I know.

Seems like the module I thought was the BCM must be something else, the connectors are not the same, have you any idea where the BCM is located on my car ?

Body Control Module Replacement

 

Removal Procedure

 

 

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

 

 

 

 

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable(s).

 

 

 

 

2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to

Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

 

 

 

 

3. Disconnect the brown connector.

 

 

 

4. Disconnect all other connectors?(1).

 

 

 

5. Remove the BCM from the sliding bracket.

Installation Procedure

 

 

 

1. Slide the BCM onto the bracket.

 

 

 

2. Connect all the connectors?(1) except the brown connector.

 

 

 

3. Connect the brown connector.

 

 

 

 

4. Install the knee bolster. Refer to

Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

 

 

 

5. Connect the negative battery cable(s).

 

 

 

6. Reprogram the BCM. Refer to

Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .

 

 

 

7. Perform the Passlock Learn Procedure. Refer to

Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft

That's a problem, I can't see that any of the connectors on my picture has 16 pins.

No purple connector, and not the same number of pins, this can't be the BCM.
