Powder coat or new valve covers?

I kind of want to do something with my valve covers to make my engine compartment look better in my k1500 now I have a friend with powder coat gun and sand blaster I could do my covers for pretty cheap or would it be easier to get new ones? Also would I need new gaskets for the valve covers? Also what colors do you guys think would look good? And any other suggestions for under the hood?

I like those but it seems like it would be easier for me to powder coat mine myself wonder if I could get the red and black like those? How hot do the valve covers get I have never really checked
