burnt rubber smell

Check to see if something snagged onto the exhaust and is melting on it. One time I had a plastic smell on a Oldsmobile turned out to be a melting plastic bag on the muffler. Just something to check that's easy.

Oh you said New. Sorry ask the dealer? I can't recall if I had a funny smell on mine when it was new. But if I drive hard it smells after I hop out. Both vehicles I own do that though

ya i figured i would take it to the dealer.. just thought it was worth asking first. Ill will check to see if anything is hung up on the muffler though. they did spray some rust proof stuff under the truck so im thinking they got some on the muffler. but i had the truck a couple days before they did that and i cant remember for sure but i think it smelled before they did it.

That's it! I had the rust protection sprayed from the dealer the rubber type spray, and yes some got on the exhaust, I bet that's what it is. I was unimpressed with my dealers job they hit the driveshaft and part of the exhaust. It should burn away mine did.

yea i forgot all all bout it until you mentioned somthing on the exhaust. Im not worried about it now, thats got to be it. and i wasn't to impressed myself when they did the rear wheel well- i like that its black, i plan on getting some liners but it looks like crap and has a ton of runs. how long have they been spraying that stuff? i wonder if it acutally holds up to there 10 year guarantee- thats a long time in northern michigan weather to start to rust. I never buy any extra warranties but that one sounded pretty smart.
