Traction Control

triangle light with the squirley tires on the left side of dash came on while doing a left turn on perfectly dry roads. In 2 wheel drive. 2010 Silverado/5.3/4 wheel drive with 40,000 miles.

 

Truck ha less than 200 miles in all wheel or 4 wheel drive as only used in slick weather and I don't drive alot in slick weather. I do engage it every month or so in warm weather to circulate any fluids. Maybe a mile or so then back to 2 wheel drive.

 

Stopped at a store, shut truck off, started again after about 5 minutes and light stayed off all the way home. Distance of about 3 miles. Will watch it later on way to work.

 

What's going on beside a potential service issue

What is the service needed

Estimated hours or cost

What is the service to be done ?

How soon to be serviced if light stays on? Can it be driven for a while until a service dealer gets me in ?

it will answer some questions ,not the 1000 questions you have !!! lol

it's NOT normal when the light stays on and I get a message to service the traction control. That's what I'm trying to find out: what's it all about.

you never said that !!!! your initial post was clear as mud ,lol

 

you have a code to be diagnosed thats all,

 

off the dealer you should go ,

tried the instructions in the manual and the light and message went out...drove it a few miles..left turn..lights/message back on...took it to the dealer and after 2 hours of troubleshooting wires,as they said, found out a sensor is intermittent and will cost 400 plus to fix....4000 miles past the bumper to bumper warranty.
