Install Center Console in 2013 Silverado LT

I've got a brand new 2013 1500 Silverado with leather bucket seats and a jump seat in the middle. I have found a new center console (matching color) on ebay and purchased. This is the LT long console version (unlike the shorter version for the LTZ model). I'm looking for advice on taking out my jump seat and installing the new console.

I'm hoping there isn't any dash work to do on these newer models. Reading older posts, it appears dashwork was necessary on the 2000-2006 model years. Does anyone know for the newer series?

Also, are there any safety precautions to take before unbolting the drivers and passenger bucket seats (e.g. airbags)? I assume to unhook the battery and let sit 15 minutes before starting the work.

Any help would be appreciated. I can take pictures and post as I do this so others can see the steps for a newer model year.

Thee shouldnt be and dash work involved.. the center console you bought should be a direct replacement. Do what you said, unhook the battery, and have at it..

If i was doing it, i would take the passenger seat right out and install it from that side. Easier than trying to work around the steering wheel. There should be enough play when you unbolt one side of the driver seat to get it in..

Post up pictures of the process, This is something i want to do down the road. I'm sure it will help others too

good luck

I replaced the jump seat in my crew cab with a LTZ console and it was fairly straight forward. No cutting required of dash. No need to unplug seats, just unbolt and prop up insides of seats and the jump seat will come out from the back where you should have more room to maneuver. The brackets or 'feet' of the jump seat sit under the inside brackets of the seats and the console you bought mounts the same way.

Thanks, guys.

It will be a couple weeks before I can do this. Then I will post some pics and any surprises I find.

My console arrived and now I find out it came with a RSA (Rear Seat Audio) system for the backseat. But of course no wiring harness. I'm wondering what the group knows about getting a harness to connect my OEM radio (LT model truck) to this RSA. I've searched the forum but no hits on this newer model and none without the bose system.

Thanks

I bought a center console with the Bose speaker and I installed the console this weekend on my truck. It took my wife and I about 1 hour and a half to remove the seats take out the old and put the new one back in. Super easy! I isn't take any pics as it was hot as all get out and I was in a hurry. I can answer any questions about it though.

Bose speaker and box is for sale now though!

I too purchased a center console from Ebay to put in my 09 Crew.

It fit perfectly and the whole process was simple enough.

but my jump seat had one power outlet inside and now this center console has one inside and one on the back.

I made sure not to order one with the rear entertainment unit so it just has the little black cubby.

My dilemma is that I want both outlets to work and I'd like them to be "hot" when the truck is off.

I'm not electrical savvy so I don't know what to do to get them to work.

Tap into one of the dash plugs. it is simple. you can get wire tap splices at most part stores
