As some of you know I work part time at a corner store as well as being in the Navy (divorce will do that to you). You know filling the beer cooler, taking out the trash, sweeping and moping the floor. No big deal. Tonight I watch this women get out of her car and go into the store. Sounds pretty normal, she gets what she wants and leaves. So far so good untill she pulls out of the parking lot and up to the intersection and stops at the stop sign. She throws a McD cup out of her window including top, straw, and ice. What makes me mad is she walk past a trash can twice. Well I went went out into the street and cleaned up the mess.

I guess my real problem with this is that I have spent the last 18 and a half years defending this country so she can throw her garbage on it. I don't think so. Littering is not a privilege or right. It is just plain disrespectful. It is like spitting in the face of all those that defend this great nation. Sorry to vent it just pi$$es me off.

Oh yes I hear you on that.

My neighborhood is a "Pass through" neighborhood, so alot of people who really have no business going thru our neighborhood are going through simply for a "short-cut". I have no problem  with that, except when I go to my mailbox and find empty beer bottles, cans, cigarette packs, Snuff cans, and other what-nots in my ditch.

That's one reason i don't want to smoke, cause I see alot of ppl just toss them out the window while they are still lit, in fact, one time I had somebody throw one at me while I was getting the mail. Car full of punks. I'd wish they'd try that now a days, cause next time they'll get rocks through their Windows!

What I really hate is when people just dumps loads of broken heavy appliances and such in the woods somewhere.

I know every class of America has its "litter bugs" and the "picker uppers."  Some of these BUGS have beautiful yards where not a blade of grass is out of place!  It is disgusting.  In Boy Scouts I would clean up a section of roadway at least once a month (excluding the snow covered ones).  My parents taught me a "bad" practice.  Anytime I see something odd on the side of the road and I pick it up (I'm curious about stuff).  Even if I find out it is nothing I want, I still find a garbage for it (I already took the energy to pick it up).  Once on a bicycling ride I saw a garbage bag full of trash in the middle of a fairly busy road.  It was causing traffic problems so I picked it up and asked an older couple if they could at it to their trash.  (They were working in their yard 20ft away!)  They said they didn't want it!!!! :sneek: (What was I suppose to do with it?  I was biking)  @$$es!!!!

One thing I see alot of out in the country (where alot of people have horses) is feed sacks.  These guys will go out and buy a bunch of feed and just throw the empty sacks in the back of a pickup.  They just figure that there is no need to throw the sacks out when they can just let in blow out on the way home.

5-10 years ago, the popular thing to do out in the countryland of Va is burn your trash in a old 50 gallon drum.

One time I saw this "genious" who had lit a drum of trash, and then put it in his P\U and took off. We had to follow him for 5 miles and smoldering debris and black smoke was flying all over the place. I look back today (this was around 8 years ago or so) and I still can't believe the guy did that.

Don't you drive a F#*D?  That's about the same isn't it?   :D   Sorry I couldn't resist.

I hate them too.  I can't understand why people are so inconsiderate and disrespectful.  I guess they're just stupid.

Reminds of a story from a couple years ago though.

My Dad and I were building a driveway in our yard.  These punks came driving up the street in a green Mustang and threw out a Subway cup (Ice and all) in the road in front of our house and laghed and yelled.  Then they dropped off the neighbor kid next door, and turned around at the end of street to leave.  When they came back I was standing in the middle of the road.  When the guy stopped I walked around to the driver's window and said, "One of you dropped this I thought you might want it back."  He looked like he was gonna crap his pants and said thanks, took it and threw it at his friend in the back.  As he left I heard him and the girl with them cussing the one who threw it out.  That kinda made me smile.  Anyway, I just thought I'd share.
