Just found a radiator leak...

Well, as the title says, I came home for lunch and when I came back out, I found a nice puddle under the truck and thought "oh S--t." Well it turned out to be water/antifreeze. I popped the hood and found it coming out the bottom middle of my radiator. So, looks like I'm down to one car for a little while till I get this crap fixed. Its one problem after another with this darn truck. That's why I'm buying a 03 2500HD. Sorry, I just needed to get that off my chest.

So radiators don't leak in 03 2500 HD's?

My 97' GMC Sierra K1500 has 151,000 on the odometer and I've replaced the radiator 3 times so far. The core is ok, but they leak at the plastic end caps that are crimped on. Very poor design. I've also replaced the intake manifold gasket set 3 times due to another poor GM design on these Vortec engines. I won't even get into the constant fuel injection problems encountered as well.

You can replace the radiator for less than $200.

Call up some local radiator shops, ask for a Silla all-aluminum radiator. no plastic sides.

Do the repair yourself, save $300 in labor.

Hardset part is capturing the coolant, and clean up.

If you haven't replaced the hoses and thermostat, now is a good time, too.

I plan on doing the fix myself, it isn't hard. I may change that extra stuff, but I'm just fixing it to sell so I'm not too concerned.
