window and mirror switch issues?

2001 Chevy 2500HD LT crew cab 4x4 6.0

 

 

I'm noticing that my passenger side mirror quits working intermittently, usually when trying to go up but some times all directions. Days later it works again. I have also started noticing that the rear passenger window sometimes cannot be rolled up from the drivers switch. Later that same day it will work again and rolling it up from the passenger door always works. When trying from the drivers door you can hear the motor in the rear passenger door click just a little so it seems to be getting some juice. I know the mirror switch and window switch are separate switches. Is that the best place to start is by replacing those switches? Is there anything else I should check first?

You may be like I was on my 99, the wiring harness between the cab and drivers door is shorting out. On my old truck when I went to the dealer to see about getting one it was no longer available!!! And this was in about 2007 or 8. So I tried junk yards and found out that they had two different ones and never could find on to match up with the one that I had. You may need to just try and find which wire is bad and replace it.

Drivers door controls may be getting bad. Mine took in some water from being open a bit here and there.. Replaced it and all was good again.
