2004 Yukon traction/stability control issue. Need guidance

Ok my g/f's brother has a 2004 Yukon. Fully loaded minus navigation. 98% of the time under acceleration above 25% throttle the Driver Info Center says TRACTION CONTROL and it cuts power severely to where they can't accelerate for 3-4 seconds. Just curious what is the likely cause? Can a wheel bearing/ABS issue cause this? I ask because it's getting some noise in the front end from the drivers wheel that kinda sounds like a wheel bearing but i could be a diff too. Also sometimes when driving in dry conditions and pressing on the breaks normal it'll initiate ABS and pulse thru the peddle and i'm wondering if the 2 are related. Thanks guys, appreciate if you can point me in the right direction. I just fixed his gauge cluster steppers tonight and he was telling me about the other issues. When i took it out i was easily able to recreate the situation where it does all this. Also when you turn traction/stability control off it doesn't do it at all. ~Cole~

premature ABS event can be from a dirty WSS ,have them checked ,do a search here ,lots of threads

yes they are related

Yes it's possible to be caused by a faulty ABS Sensors to corroded wiring and I have see worn wheel bearings trip ABS codes due to the sensor and tone-ring gap begin to great during turns and even under aggressive acceleration. You can OHM check the sensors if you have a multi-meter and also check to see if the sensor is producing an electrical current. You can search Google and youtube for some advice on how to test sensors if your unsure how too.

I've had reduced engine power and my traction control/stability control come on on my 2011 Silverado but it was all the time and it was due to my faulty Throttle Position Sensor in my trucks case.

Cool thanks. I remember having this issue on my '03 Z71 before i had to replace both wheel bearings and it hasn't happened since. I'm gonna look at the wires and test the ohms on it. What should they read if it's normal?

well the wheel bearing started making even more noise so i replaced it for them(drivers side front). Fixed all of the issues above. Figured i'd post that in case someone ever searched in the future :)

I have a similar problem see link ... http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/153723-service-brake-system/ ...

My mechanic recently changed my brake master cylinder and starter. He also cleaned the TB cause it was kina idling rough when he fired the engine up. The next day i decided not to drive the truck..boy was i lucky. When I got home from work, I started the engine up while parked under my carport and it started fine. I took it for a test drive and about a mile into the drive, the DIC started trippin with the ABS, brake and Traction Control lights along with the "service brake sytem" message lights coming on. The door locks started unlocking and locking and chimes from the vehicle stated going on anf off also. The DIC also said reduced engine power soon after that. Before turning into a nearby parking lot, the engine turned off while on drive. I tried starting it up again and the starter just cranked and cranked with no start. I then waited a couple minutes then tried again. While cranking, I stepped on the pedal to try to get it to start...It barely started, but got it to start eventually. I revved it and revved it until I knew for sure that the engine had good idle. I proceed home and again about a 1/4 of a mile the engine shut off while in drive. Thank god I got it home safely with several tries to fire the engine up.

The next day I went to start the truck up again and it fired up fine. I let it idle for about 20-30 minutes. Curiously I turned the engine off to see if I could start it up again. When I tried starting it up...it cranks for about a second then no juice...Its like it just cuts off. Meaning while i turn the key without letting go..it cranks then just stops. What could be the problem.. Would it be the TPS or a matter of changing the wheel bearing as stated in this thread? Please Help.

sorry for hijacking the thread..

ps I also could feel a pulse when I pressed on the brakes.
