Factory head unit volume non-responsive

I don't have RSE in my console so I don't have that answer. The amp, remove the front seats, back the console away from the dash a couple inches, then there should be 4 screws, 2 on either side of the console. Also remove the lid and storage bucket to access the plugs.

IIRC, is there a mute line from the amp? Or am I thinking of another GM vehicle....

 

It was used to prevent turn-on thumps. <insert comment here about Delco EE's>

 

Also, I think the RSE stuff plugs into the back of the radio, anyone know if the radio will function w/o it plugged in? If so, maybe simply unplugging the RSE would be a way to test it as the cause or not.
