Bird chirping noise.

Hey guys,

I've got a 2008 Chevy silverado 5.3L V8 and it started making a bird chirping noise just the other day. I was told it could be my idler pulley so I took it to the local mechanic (who I've known for 10 years) and he said its most likely the cam shaft.. I kinda looked at him with a stupid face because I've never heard of a cam shaft going out at 90,000 miles. So he took off the belt and told me to start the engine. Engine was still making the bird chirping noise without the belts. He told me it was the cam shaft.

I took it to another mechanic before I let someone into my engine and he said its definitely inside the engine...

I come here for my last hope or last ray of sunshine and someone PLEASE tell me it's not my cam shaft.

Its a bird chirping sound and it gets louder as the RPMs go up.. even without the belt.. I'll be driving down the road and I'm hearing it then all of a sudden it stops for a few seconds, then comes right back... HELPPPPPPPP
