Man, my brain is fried!

I just got done taking my annual WAPS (Weighted Airman Promotion System) test to see if I'll make my next rank.  Those that are in/have been in or know about the military promotion system are probably familiar with it.  Basically for the Air Force, you take 2, 100 question tests.  One on on general Air Force stuff (History, Customs and Courtesies, Dress and Appearance, Organization, Leadership and stuff like that.)  The second one on your career field.  The hard part, for me anyways, is testing on aircraft, equipment, and weapons delivery systems that I've never seen or worked on.  They cover 6 o7 types of aircraft, 5 or 6 gun systems, all the types of equipment used, munitions and all kinds of other stuff.  I hate it, the testing that is, I do love my job though!

I need a cold one!  Maybe a few!

I know how you feel. Every time that I take a Navy advancement exam, my brain just kind of shuts down for 3-4 hours after.

Good luck Tom. I am in the Navy and now that I am a Chief I don't have to take test just sit and wait. I feel you pain. Hey Friz I see the picture of the P-3, have you ever been stationed in Brunswick, Me?

Thanks Stepside Z, I mean Chief Stepside Z.  (Gotta use my Customs and Courtesies).

What's your career field?  Mine is Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist, 2W1x1. (fancy name for a Weapons Loader, huh?)

Tom now you are making me feel bad. I just hope you make it. I am an Operations Specialist, currently I'm an AEGIS instructor at Wallops Island. I also control airplanes. I admire what you do, it takes alot of brass to handle bombs.

Thanks.

I wasn't trying to make you feel bad.  Just kinda joking around.

Sounds like you have an interesting job also.

Hey Friz I'm an ASTAC so maybe we have talked on the radio before. I have controlled hundreds of P-3's since I got qualled as an Air Controller in 87. By the way joined in July of 83, when did you join?

We probably have chewed up the same dirt a time or two.

I'm going to start a new topic on military.
