I broke the flywheel on my 95 z71 with turbo diesel. Engine replaced it now hesitates pulling off and sometimes it won't move at all I haven't changed anything but the flywheel plus it's a brand new transmission and torque converter I'm at my wits end

Transmission fluid full changed ignition switch it moved then I turned it off started it back up and no gears forward or backward again I'm at a loss have no idea

Since trans and convertor are also changed, double check trans linkage adjustment, and verify all solenoids on trans are working correctly. Could you possibly be trying to drive off in high gear? Try manually shifting into low gear and see if there is any difference.

what was the oil like comin out of the line at the cooker ,was it areated or pink and normal?

is the filter in the pump correctly ?

I find it very difficult to understand what you type. Please slow down, and include more of the words you are trying to say. Are you asking if the ignition switch can prevent you from moving the gear shift sometimes? If you cannot move the shift lever sometimes, make sure you pressing the brake pedal while trying to shift from park.

Who changed the fluid in the transmission? As stated already, it is possible the filter is not installed correctly. There may even be a seal of some type where the filter attaches to the transmission.

When you check fluid flow at radiator, which line are you removing? You will want to remove the high pressure side first, to make sure you have good flow from the trans towards the radiator. If good flow of more red than pink fluid (if air in fluid it will go pinkish and have a head on it), reconnect line to radiator and remove the return line. Check flow coming out of radiator. Should be similar to what you saw on the high pressure side. If flow is slow, you likely have a plugged cooler inside radiator. Why was trans rebuilt with a new convertor? I don't have any hands on experience on the GM transmissions, but, when Chrysler introduced lock up torque convertors in late 70's, there was a new issue that rarely ever appeared before. The clutch material in the convertor would wear off, or peel off, or flake off, and head straight to the trans cooler. Would plug a trans cooler quickly. if you had a convertor issue with your trans, did someone test the cooler in the radiator for debris?

Not sure why you are even looking at this yourself. it really sounds like you did not rebuild the trans, someone else did. Did you get a warranty with it? Did you do the labour on the engine swap? If something during the engine swap is causing this, then the shop that did the engine should be doing this for you.

Haven't put oil in transmission and checked all linkages . Would the ignition switch keep it from moving sometimes .i can crank it up and go normally it shifts fine ,then come home turn it off crank it right back up and no movement at all no forward or reverse

even with a complete transmission power failure you Will still have A gear (both solinoids off)

confirm oil level as per post #3 and report back as to what you found

I know someone who filled the trans-fluid into the engine oil dip stick tube. (both sticks were out because he changed the engine oil as well)

After he was done he started the engine and put the trans in gear. The trans "jumped" and the truck was barely moving.

(it wasn't me... :) )

Just saying.

It sounds to me like there is fluid missing. Either in the converter or trans.
