Doug Thorley headers on 4.8

I just ordered some Doug thorley long tube try-y headers with y pipe. Just wondering if anyone on here has installed them, and can comment on the sound and power and if there running catted or cat less. My truck is a 2012 4.8 cc I'm planning on putting high flow bullet cats in so I don't need to tune. Also I'm going to take the x member out so I don't have to cut the stock y pipe so I can put it back if I needed to use the warranty.

Save your money on aftermarket cats. You will see absolutely no performance gains from them as the factory cats are quite free flowing.

If you're looking for power gains in general, exhaust is the wrong place to look. Buy a cam, customized tune, and / or some 4:10 rear gears with a Detroit locker to get you started. If that doesn't satisfy you I'd look into a 6.0 swap with either a built 4L60E or a mild 4L80E swapped in.

Interesting, not looking to hack up my stock y pipe that's why I'm buying aftermarket cats. Rather spend 120 on cheap cats then hack up the y pipe. Not into swapping motors just want to make my 4.8 a bit torquier. The tune will come in a couple years when the warranty is up. I also already have a CAI on it.
