Price on new Sub

Greeting all:

I'm new to the forum, have lurked for some time.  I'm looking for a new Suburban Z71 and a local dealer has several advertised for $9000 off of sticker (including the $2500.00 rebate).  I have to think this is a great price and they happen to have 1 configured like I want.  How does this compare to discounts others have seen?

Thanks

That sounds like what the dealers around here were offering about 9 months ago.  If they are more desparate, you may do better.  With it being so early in the year though, they may stand firm.

On just about any vehicle you would want, you should have no trouble being at dealer invoice and still subtract the manufacturers rebates.

Just depends on how aggressive you want to be.  If you track a vehicle that just came off the truck, you could try getting the "marketing" fees subtracted (around $650).  If the vehicle you are watching has been on the lot for 30 days, usually the dealer has to start paying the interest on the monies borrowed to get that vehicle on the lot.  Another is after 120 days on the lot, GM will give the dealer back the "marketing" fees + help monies (~$1200).  No matter what though, the dealer will still get 3% of the MSRP back from the dealer when that vehicle is sold.

As oppose to any further dollars off the vehicle than has already been offered, if you want third party equipment like tires and wheels, negoiate a big discount.
