replacing 1996 7.4L CPS [crank position sensor]

I tested the CPS, did not get AC reading from 'yellow wire' on '96 Duallie w/ 454. Question: in Haynes' manual, it states that if u aren't careful, u could throw a 'curve ball' to the PCM. I've been working on GM prod.'s for 45 years+, and don't think that if i am careful, and follow directions, this won't be a prob. However, i would like your advice. Thanks, ken

Pretty straight forward operation as stated in Alldata. Just make sure surfaces and bore are clean, o-ring lubed and sensor seated all the way in. This could give false readings if not seated properly. You should be good.
