I did it!!!

I have been shopping and researching as alot of you know for a while about which truck I should get. I got tons reply about the 6.0 vs. 8.1. Well here is what happened.

I went to a dealer that had about 15 Used HD of different configs. drove the 6.0 the 8.1 etc. Well he had a 2001 Standard Cab Duramax on the lot with only 16,800 miles.

First off I was worried about the low milage. Then I asked who had owned it/ traded it. He said,"Oh it is our service managers old truck. So I went and talked to him. He lives 5 miles from the dealership. He used the truck 2 times last summer to pull his fifth wheel and informed me that he normally trades truck every six months . He ordered and just received his new dually duramax crew cab......

So I drove it and fell in love!!! Awesome power, awesome tranny, great milage.

The funny thing is the guy that I work with bought one new on the lot about the same time this one was purchase and paid 32,500 and his now has over 50,000 miles and doesnt have any of the options listed below .

Congrats on the new truck!!! A low milage Dmax is probably a rare find (especially a truck owned by the Service Mgr). I know you'll be thrilled with that engine/tranny combo.

Great decision. That sounded like me just over a month ago. I was leaning towards the 8.1 until i talked to some folks who owned them and told me how much gas they consumed. I tow a lot on the weekends and remember how much my supercharged 5.3L sucked down. So I got the Dmax too. Enjoy, you will love it....especially after you do some perf upgrades.
