I have a two-piece driveshaft on my 83 gmc 1500 6.2 diesel, i'm trying to take the center support bearing off and replace it but i can't slide it over the splines because the piece that screws onto the back part of the drive shaft is in the way and cannot fit over the splines either. how do i get this bearing off?

So you've unscrewed the cap and grease seal from the rear shaft? And the cap/seal is still on the front shaft? It should just pull off. The nylon seal is probably holding you back. The seal will more than likely break and you'll need to get a new one
