Fuel light?

I was driving with a quarter tank then all the sudden it drops to E and my fuel light came on in the top left hand corner. Any ideas?

could be a broke wire (,ground or otherwise ),,failed sender ,failed cluster ,fuse ,,etc etc ,,,

 

i'll bet ya a dollar that there is a code to pull,,

 

a scanner can sweep the gauges and also see if the gauge matches data ,,

 

you must have a service manual right ?,,,if not you need one if doing this yourself

idk ,see if the owners manual will help or check all under hood fuses with key on engine off and a test light

I have an 01, sender on mine is going. Mine is on and off depending on it's mood. I have to remember my fills. I had it out last summer and it looked worn, I should have cleaned it up. It jumps all over the place but always lower than the actual fill level on the tank. A lot of times it will read E and I know I have at least a 1/4 tank in it.

Go through all the easy stuff first because to change the sender you need to take the box off.
