Windshield washer pump

Confused here LOL.

All of a sudden the windshield washer pump on my 1999 Silverado stopped pumping. I checked the fuse, it looked fine so I took the plunge and bought a new pump. After painstakingly removing the tank and replacing the pump i reassembled everything and it still isn't working, pump is brand new. Any advice at this point would be more than welcome!! Thanks!!

Buy/borrow a multimeter and see if you even have voltage at the pump electrical connector. Check grounds. If no voltage, invest in a manual w/schematics or find some online and trace it back. Might be as simple as a bad ground somewhere or it might be a cooked module....

At the very least get yourself a simple 12v test light, and using that, test for power coming to the pump, and after putting the lead clamp on the positive terminal of battery, check the ground side.

Note: you will be safe on the 99 model year using a test light, but on any of the newer vehicles you have to be careful what you probe with the old style cheap test light.
