When I use my GM buypower card...?

How does that effect the dealer? Reason I ask is because he is a family friend and I hate to screw him at the end of the deal when he gives me the final price after negotiation and I then hit him with the fact I have the card and get to deduct more from that price. Do they get to recooup that deduction from GM or what?

I believe that rebate comes from GM. It is a GM program and not a dealer specific program

It doesnt affect the dealer at all. here are limits by type of card and what vehicle you are purchasing. The dealer just calls in to confirm the amount then deducts. Never had a problem using mine

how does it work..is it a set amount off of a purchase or only on points used by spending the card everywhere else

All cards are different. For example I have the original with I get 5% on each purchase on the card that goes toward the purchase of a car. There are also limits on certain cards/vehicle models
