Will a 315x70x17 BFG fit on a stock Z71 rim, and will that stock rim fit the procomp 6" lift that's on sale at 4WP???

no z71 rims are only 16's

Z71 rims are 17 X 7.5, just like the Escalade and Denali

I think its a bit of a stretch to try and put a 315 tire on the 7.5" width of the Z71 wheel. You're talking about a tire that has a tread width of 12.4"! The 70 profile makes it even more difficult. You could do it, I'm sure. You won't be happy with the result.

I'm considering 275's or 285's and the recommendation is for a 8"-9" wheel width.

Yes they will firt and they will look good. I have the same tire on a 17x8 weld sidewinder for my denali xl but I'm waiting for my RCD lift to arrive. Th 1/2 inch difference in our wheel widths is very minor and you will have less of a chance of tire rub.

If you don't have your tires yet go check out your local Hummer dealer. These are the tires that come stock on the H2 and many dealerships are swapping out wheels and tires to M/T 's.
