4.8 (LR4) bolt ons

What are some cheap bolt-on's that are worth some power?

 

What can I take off similar engines that will bolt up? (ie: intakes, etc)

 

I have an 02 so it's got a throttle cable

Well, its a 4.8. So the parts from a 5.3 should be the same and even a 5.7 but its the bore, stroke, and cam that is what it is... Typical arguments would be the standard stuff for a stock motor. By arguments, I mean some would say "snake oil" and others would swear by them.. Nothing will give you 30mpg, or 100hp but they all will give your butt dyno or ears some fun...

 

IMO....

-Cold Air Intake. Better airflow, cool noise under the hood.

-Intake manifold spacer. Not sure there is any benefit seen with this unless you really are tossing some money internally.

-A cat back exhaust or cut off that restrictive muffler and replace it with something less restrictive. Personally I like the Flowmaster 50. A little rumble driving, but a ton of attitude when you get on it... The arguments are endless for the best bang for the buck. Not sure what the stock pipe size for the exhaust on your 4.8 is. Mine is 2.75" so going to a 3" cat back system is not going to be very big jump for flow...

-Blackbear tune. Butt dyno approved...

Intake spacer is a waste. Tune will give you best bang for your buck.
