2002 LT Z71, LT, 30k miles with a Protec bed on it.

They are offering to sell it to me for 22k.

Opinions?

Also, if anyone has a carfax account, and don't mind, the VIN is: 1GCEK19T32Z238491

Miles are high for an '02 but that helps bring the price down!!!  If you only drive 10K or less a year your miles will be back to normal in about 4 years.

The price seems pretty good, but I think that is because of the miles.

I'm sure the truck isn't hurt because those would be all highway miles.

The LT package adds alot of gingerbread on the inside.  I love the "LT" options on my truck!!!

The truck looks good on the outside and it looks like it is ready to be "modded".  It looks bone stock except for the bug shield on the hood.

If the miles don't scare you then it seems like a good deal to me...

Plus, I think the white looks    with the black flares.  Especially with some larger, more aggressive tires.

Have you seen the inside?  Any damage, scrapes, worn carpet, etc.?

I drove it like I stole it today. Drives very well, no nicks, dings, scratches, stains, rips, tears etc. I rolled around under it, climbed on top of it, drove at 90 on the highway.

Still has the factory POS tires, so I know whoever had it wasn't taking it off road too seriously.

The only thing bugging me is the mileage, but it's not overly high. Well....That and I don't know about the whole Protec bed thing. It's freaking plastic.

did you try KBB and see what kinda price it is worth?

30K miles on an 02 seems high.  Check the engine hrs and see if it was mostly highway miles  :thumb:

Mine is a 2000 with only 33,400 miles right now

Yeah, I checked it. It was 890 hrs.

I checked this thread and it works out right along the lines of some of the posts from your trucks, as far as mileage/hour ratios.

Hmmmmm....I might have to add another kid to the growing family.

...Now if I could only find a woman....Nah, that would put too many trucks in the driveway.

Yeahhhh.....

I bought it. I'm a sucker for a heated keester in these harsh Oklahoma winters.(I think it's 60 out right now.)

I'll put pics up when I get the chance.

Congrats on the new truck!!!  Did you talk them down below $22K? Or get them to throw in anything on the deal?

I think you did good, because that truck probably stickered in the mid $30K range a year ago.

PS.  You will love the heated leather buckets...  I think I have had mine on all winter long.

They actually were asking 26k when I saw it.

For some reason, it didn't have a tow package. Being an LT with every option on the planet INCLUDING the Pro-tec bed...I think they pulled it off.

They tried to charge me 250 bucks for "doc fees", and $300 for window etching.

I told em to keep it.

I got it for $21,500, no fees, free window etching (like it is very useful), and a brand new class 3 hitch with the factory wiring harness....I got all this from a stealerships used lot.

I think I got a decent deal for an 02.

    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
