Keakar I see your point. When I picked mine from my dealer my wife spotted a scratched tail light I had overlooked. They ended up swapping another lens from another truck, one case where a picky wife came in handy, and saved me from hearing crap from her later.

In 1984 i bought a new f150. drove across the street to Micky D's to get a burger. Sitting at the picnic table lovin the new truck, I noticed something strange. I could see passing cars in the paint,in the front fender area and in the last 2 feet of the bed, only. i said to my buddy whats up with that. We both went over and started tapping on the truck. Bondo almost the whole side of the truck. I looked this over quite well at the dealer and could not see the distortion under those lights. Then also noticed a slight dimple on the roof. Climbed up and a 15 inch wide area front to back was also bondo. Drove back across the street and pitched a fit. Owner heard the fuss came out listened, went out to truck with me. Said this truck just came in 3 days ago must have been damaged at factory, and sent out. Sincere apology and within the hour I had a better truck with no additional cost. That is the way it should work. Not 100 ways of saying not my fault you signed the papers.

In the way you describe, its obvious you didn't do it. That cant be said about a scratch or ding after you leave the lot. That's why you do a walk around before you leave.
