RE: Allison Transmission difference between 2WD and 4WD

Hey guys, I just bought a rolled over 2007 HD Chevy crew cab with the Duramax Deisen and Allison transmission. I wondered if it was possible to use the same transmission in a Gas Model HD 4WD model the same year to convert it over to diesel. I know the 4L80E you need to change out the transmission rear output shaft for one a different length but is this the same on the Allison or can it be bolted right up to the T-Case? I have heard rumours it can be a direct swap just by removing the trannys output shaft housing and bolting on the adapter, can anyone confirm this? Thanks in Advance.....Rob

I love Alison's and worked on a few but I can't answer that , you need to see a parts guy screen at a dealer to know
