Opinions Airaid Intake vs Airaid Jr. kit both with dry filter

Can I ask you guys something? And I don't mean any disrespect, trust me I don't, but why is everyone trying to be so cheap? We have guys trying to build their own kits, or getting these 1/2 Airaid kits that don't have the filter part, or just putting in a new filter only. Why are you not spending the extra $150 and getting the full kit? It makes no sense to me. You spent $40-50,000 on a truck but you dont want to spend another $150?? And then there is this whole "it's open to the engine bay and sucks in heat" and "it's too loud" comments I read. CMON PLEASE. The whole point of buying a CAI is to increase breathing to the engine, so ya it is going to have to make noise to do that. Besides THE ONLY TIME my airaid makes any sound I can hear is when I punch on it. Regular throttle is just as quiet as stock. And no extra heat is getting in there, IT IS SEALED AGAINST THE HOOD.

 

Let me give you an example of what this means. I have, to date, spent a whole $600 on performance mods for my truck. That is for the airaid and for a magnaflow exhaust. It completely woke up my 6.2. I have not even done a tune or headers yet. And yet still, I raced the southern comfort G2 Lingenfelter supercharged 5.3 truck and beat it. Easily.

 

Something for you to think about.

Yeah, it was not a money thing for me ... I installed the Airaid Jr. Kit cause I thought it was a nice setup. I have had full kits in the past (AEM and K&N) on other trucks I owned but liked the way the Jr. Kit integrated with the stock air box. I hated the look of that stock unit that came with the truck. I am on the fence on an exhaust upgrade due to the drone in V4. I had a 2012 Hemi Big Horn Ram with a 14 in. Magnaflow set up and it sound horrible when the V4 kicked in.
