Yes, they are the 20s. Never wanted larger then 18s, but this was the only truck on the east coast that was crew cab, std bed, buckets, max tow, and came with the power rear window (love that thing) Color wasn't even a choice of mine, but I love it now. It's a rare setup like my 07 so I'm happy. The wheels are off bc i was doing my 1st oil change and rotation. I drive about 5,000 a month so this will be common practice haha.

Truck looks great!

and 5k a month?! You do some kind of sales job or something? That's 60k a year, I had to check my math when I did that.

No sales...Well sometimes add-ons. Anyway, I own (1 of 4 partners) and operate a home remodeling company. I run the operations side of the company. We do windows, roofing, siding, blah blah blah. We are in 4 states now and growing. As of now I set up and run every single job sold by 1 of our 5-7 sales reps. 3 out of 5 days I'm literally driving all day long checking on jobs or doing the final inspections then collecting payments. This truck is my office away from the office. I help the installation crews out as much as I can by picking up window orders, picking up left over materials from jobs, Yada yada. This truck hauls almost everyday as well. I hate racking up the miles so quickly, but I love driving this baby every single mile. I forsee upwards of 6--8k per month on the horizon as I achieved 5k through a winter month which is a slower time for this field of business. I plan to hit 300k on this one!

Apologies Jman ... New to the forum and figuring stuff out. Was trying to post pix of my 2015 Cayenne Metallic Sierra. Couldn't figure it out and ended up posting a couple meaningless messages ☺

Was also gonna ask if you might be interested in an exchange of your 20" wheels/tires for my 17's?

Posted

No need for apologies! I figured that was the issue. Anyway, welcome! I just might be interested. I am not familiar with the style of the 17s but I've always preferred smaller wheels with a larger tire profile.

Thanks for the welcome! Still can't figure the picture thing out :-)

Attempted PM but site says "you're not accepting." Anyway, maybe you could send me a PM with your cell # or email address and I could send you some pictures.

I'm in Cherry Hill, NJ and see you're in Delaware. If we're mutually agreeable to this whole thing, maybe we could meet and so a swapout exchange.

Thanks again!

Finally figured it out

Here's a picture of my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 Double Cab.

5.3L / 3.08 Rear with PosiTraction / Nav System / Backup Camera / Trailer Package / SLE Value Package / 17" Alloy Wheels

Truck is a little over a month old and has about 850 miles on it at this point.

So far I'm loving it!

The last GM truck I owned was a 2005 Chevy Express Cargo van for my contracting business at the time. Had well over 200,000 miles on the Express and very little issues.

Fingers crossed I have the same luck with my new Sierra!

Fresh tint!! Only went 35% vs the 20% since in Michigan nothing is allowed. Pretty happy with the way out it looks, it's actually really close to factory rear tint...pretty sure the factory tint is lighter than previous years.

Looking good SierraMax!

Weather getting nice here so I can maybe start my add ons.

My list of add ons includes: oem assist steps, K&N intake, Dual Liner bed liner, Undercover Flex hard tonneau cover and oem mudflaps.

Everythings been sitting in my living room waiting for warmer temps ?

We'll see what this weekend brings although I think they're calling for rain.

1st thing I'd do is plasti dip the front & back GMC emblems to something that matches the paint better. I don't like the red emblems with that color.

I plan on dipping both emblems and all the chrome lettering... I agree the red GMC logos clash

I was just looking at them today when I dropped it off for Line-x. Was going to ask them if they could do them real quick but I forgot and picked the truck up after they closed. Plasti dip it is!

Post some pictures when it's done ... What color do you plan to use? I was thinking of doing mine in anthracite

Haha if I ever have time. I was just out in my garage looking at what needs to be done. Tractor is #1, then dirt bike fork seals and swing arm bearing, then maybe the truck. I should have some time soon. I'll make it!

P.s. Sorry for not getting back to you about the wheels. I scraped/knicked one up so figured I killed that trade. Then my dad just got a 15 Silverado and he wants to trade knowing the scratches are there. Think I'll just keep them now that I don't have to worry about them anymore

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
    • No one will care for you like you care for you. Do what you can for as long as you can. IMHO of course.
    • How about them NICKS!!!
    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
