Not another exhaust question!?!  :D

Well, I want new exhaust and have just spent about 2.5 hrs reading previous posts.  I am still unclear on a couple things.  I am wanting a flowmaster muffler system, probably 50 series or 70 series as the 40 are too loud.  I've got a '95 5.7L with the single converter so I'll need a single 3" in, dual 2.5" out?  Plus, what's the diff between the orginal series and the delta flows?  Also, the exhaust shop said that they usually go 3" in 2.25" out.  Is 2.5" pipe better/worse, or will I lose back pressure etc.?  Any part numbers would be helpful too.    Pleeeease help me!   :hail:

I think your exhaust shop is on target with a 3" in and dual 2.25" out.  This is the same recommendation my speed shop had if I wanted to go dual.  My son has a delta flow 40 on his S-10 (4.3) and it sounds nice.  A V8 would sould great with that setup because the delta flow is not as harsh sounding as the old Flowmaster 40.  I've heard a FM 70 on a V8 and thought it was too mellow.

I've had a Gibson on my Avalanche since new and I now think it is too mellow.  Better than stock, but too mellow.  I suggest listening to the audo clips on the flowmaster website and also check the archives here for links to clips.

Thank you for the reply.  I'll go with the 3" in and 2.25" out then, I was just curious.  I have seen many 2.5 out instead and didn't know.    Though I think the 40 series sounds great, it is a little louder than what I am looking for.  The 70 would probably be too subtle, so I may go with the 50 series.  Does each one have a delta flow?  i.e. 40 series, 40 series delta flow, 50 series, 50 series delta flow, etc.  If so I don't kwno which one would be better.
