Eddiebray73 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Hi everyone! New to the forum an want to thank everyone in advance. I have a 2004 chevy 1500 4.8 that needs a new engine, i just picked up a 5.3 an was wondering what i could do to give it some more power, id like to buy some 4.8 pistons an add them to the 5.3 for the extra compression, i currently have some castec 862 head that have been milled down an refinished and ive been looking at the 212/218 comp cam, i need to keep the low end torque because the truck is currently sitting on 35s, i just turned 18 and im not great with compression ratios an have never done a motor build but would love the oppertunity to learn, id like to stay on somewhat of a budget but understand, im still looking at 2-3k in parts and machining, any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Carder09 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 How about buying lower compression Pistons and turbo charging that bad boy.
