Well, I figured all  them  would talk trash about Bush,  so I didn't  watch it. But mom did.

She said Michael Moore won something, got up there and started rambling on "Shame on Bush!"  and stuff like that. She said everybody was booing him  off the stage. And when he finally got off, Steve Martin  got upthere and said "Aww isn't that cute, the teramsters are helping Mr. Moore into the trunk of his car." :flag:

Steve Martin is the best.  :flag:

See,  not ALL of Hollywood is that bad. :flag:

I didn't see it, but I saw a clip that CNN or somebody showed of Mr. Moore shouting shame on you Bush, shame on you, and you could definately hear the boos, along with some cheers, in the background...dumbasses think we wanna know what their opinions are, SHUTUP AND MAKE MOVIES RETARDS!!!!!

Micheal Moore was the writer of one of the movies I think.  IThey said he's film maker, so he either produced or wrote or directed something that won.

I didn't see it either, but they said it started off with some cheers, then a ton of boos came.

Later the guy that won for his role in the Pianist commented on the war.  He never said it was good or bad, he just wished for a swift peaceful resolution to it, and told his friend and high school buddy from back home that is serving in Kuwait that he was thinking about him and the other troops and hoped they got home soon.

My point exactly.  He is nobody!

Seriously, I didn't know or care who he is or what he thinks.  Most people probably don't either. :flag:

So is it true what they were saying................

Did anybody get up and ramble on about thanking everyone that meant something to them.  I heard thru the grapevine that they were going to try and get people not not thank people but to make coments people could re-late to..

Any luck????

I think they told them not to mention more than 5 people when they thanked people.  I heard one person make a comment about how he hadn't mentioned 5 yet, even though he was taking along time.

As for Michael Moore, he's an author, filmmaker, and political activist.  He did EdTV and Lucky Numbers, as well as some documentaries.  He won the Oscar this year for Best Documentary.  He's fairly well known in the film industry and in political circles in the West.

Here's an article on what happened.....

Director Moore Scolds Bush from Oscar Stage

Mon Mar 24, 2:07 PM ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Politics grabbed center stage at the Academy Awards (news - web sites) on Sunday as the winner for best documentary, director Michael Moore, charged President Bush (news - web sites) with waging a "fictitious war."

Wagging his finger from the stage as he was both applauded and booed by the assembled celebrities, Moore said, "We are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you."

Moore won for "Bowling for Columbine," a provocative film on the roots of gun violence in America, whose title refers to the Colorado high school where two students massacred 13 people before killing themselves in 1999.

Moore, who received a standing ovation from the assembled celebrities, invited the other nominees for best documentary film to join him onstage in solidarity against the war against Iraq.

"We like nonfiction and we live in fictitious times. We live in a time where we have fictitious election results, that elect a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons," Moore said.

Oscar host Steve Martin joked after Moore finished speaking that "the Teamsters are helping Mr. Moore into the trunk of his limo."

First let me say....I think everything Moore said was stupid, and I'm glad he got booed off the stage.

With that said I want to point out two things.....

1. Alot of people are quick to stereotype all of the "Hollywood People" and throw them into one category of anti-war liberals.  Apparently ALOT of them are not like that, or Moore would NOT have been booed off the stage.

2. They all have a right to an opinion and to voice that opinion as much as each of us do.  I think everything he said was stupid, but I still think Moore had the right to say it, whether I wanted to hear it or not.  Just because they're from Hollywood, or celebrities, or anything else doesn't mean they don't have the same rights we have.

So let me throw this out there...........

Why is it that the anti-war rally's always end with tear gas and the cops having to break it up and arrest people?  I THOUGHT THEY WERE AGAINST WAR????

:werd:

So why would you start a fight.... I saw in the news the other day a guy kicking and spiting on a police officer while holding a peace sign in his other hand :flag:  :flag:  :flag:

So if someone that was for the war threw a rock at someone against the war  would they throw it back????

I never have and doubt I ever will watch that show.  Two totally different things were reported.  Some say he was boo'd off the stage and several news articles say it was mixed.  What was it?  I never heard of Michael Moore either.

I often wonder the same thing.

WEFs99,

They played  a  sound clip of his whole  speech over the Radio. And I  heard more boos than I did cheers.  But there were 2 or 3 cheers.

If you listen closely you can hear one of the production managers (Or whatever you want to call them) say "Hit the music." while Moore was still yappin',  I thought that was great. :flag:

That ass Moore who was booed off the stage won for his "fabricated" anti-gun, anti-2nd Amendment movie "Bowling for Columbine".

So not only is he a loser for his comments last night...he is also a member of the growing conspiracy of Hollywood types who advocate the importance of so many rights, yet feel the need to do everything they can to try and inhibit my 2nd Amendment Constitutional right to have as many freakin' guns as I want to have and to be able to defend myself and my family.  So f**k him. :flag:

From my cold dead bloddy hands... :flag:  :flag:
