Anybody wonder where the amored units are?

Why are we trying to take all of Southern Iraq with Infantry, rather than Armored Divisions?

Yes, the infantry has about 250 tanks, but if they sent the Armored Divisions they would have 2 or 3 thousand tanks each.  Right now we have about the same number or mabye a little fewer tanks over there than Iraq has.

The original plan was to take Iraq with two armored divisions, one in the north and one in the south, surrounding Bagdad. Then send in the infantry to fight it out in Bagdad.  Once diplomacy with Turkey went down hill we just sent the infantry north to fight their way there.  We started the war with about 50% less military power than we had planned on starting it with.  By the time the Infantry get there they're going to be exhausted, they've already gone 4 or 5 days without sleeping.  It'll be at least a week before any armored divisions can get there, being shipped around Turkey now.

This explains why things don't seem to be going as fast as everyone thought they would go.

I am all for this war, and I support it 100%, but I have to wonder, shouldn't we have waited until the armored divisions were there, even if it meant an extra day or two?  I mean we could've gone ahead and bombed, so we would be standing behind the deadline; but not started the ground assault until we had everything we needed.

Just a thought.

Maybe the armored divisions can make faster tracks with nothing to mow down but desert ground??

Just my .02 worth........

    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.

    • Wouldn't swapping out the original AFM/DFM parts for a complete Delete Kit be the best route to go if one could afford to go that route?
    • It comes with directions but yes, generally, it's the same.  Also, get you the dipstick stuff to install dipstick so you have one.
