Transmission Slipping?

Sometimes my 2002 2500HD transmission seems to slip when starting from a stop.

Has anyone noticed this on their truck?

Today, I had to left accross traffic and I gunned it some and she just sat for for about 2 to 3 seconds and then decided to go. I could feel the RPMs going up but it hesitated.

Mine used to do that!!! It was like it was in neutral, and then would slam into 1st. It happened to my Service Mgr and the Service Tech when they were moving my truck into the shop to check it out...

They found an update for the computer and installed it, and the truck has been purrrrfect ever since.

Do you have any information about the computer update?

I just got mine back from the Dealer and they did a test drive and had no problems with it.

They also could not find any bulletins about a computer update.

last summer and early last fall when the weather was warm, I noticed it a couple of times.

did not notice it all winter.

Now that temps are back in the 70s+, it happened again yesterday.

When it does happen, it is usually after sitting at a long light.

It is not very 'repeatable', so I haven't taken it in.

I don't know what update they downloaded.

Mine started out doing it maybe once every week or two, and then it got to the point where it would do it 2-3 times a day. Luckily it happened to them too, otherwise I know they would have said "could not duplicate". My '00 1500 Silverado had it happen to it a few times too, but I never had it looked at.
