96 GMC 1500 how do I disable the auto lock system on the truck it has drove me crazy since I bought the truck

Do you have an aftermarket Alarm, and/or Remote Start?

I am thinking you have one of the above and it is wired into you door locks.

Look for wires spliced into the door lock relay.
