Hello all,

I bought a 2014 GMC Sierra back in November 2014 and within the last couple of months as the weather has been cold in the morning the truck has been slow to start. It will crank longer than usual then turn on. Is this happening to anybody else? I already took it to the dealership and they kept it a couple of days to look at it but when i went to pick it up all they told me was "GMC's have this issue"......I'm sorry but thats not the answer I was looking for and quite frankly it's not the answer I will take for a brand new truck!

I live in San Antonio, TX and it does not get very cold here. Even at 40 degrees it takes a while to start....

Any answers will be helpful, I'm lost and not happy with the dealership's answer to this problem!!

Thanks

Mine and most people on here with K2s also have this happen. It's just the cold weather effecting the battery. Sometimes it starts right up and others it takes 2-3 seconds (which seems like a long time). If it takes a real long time, maybe more than 5 seconds then there may be something wrong, but if it's less than 5 seconds it's normal for cold weather.

Happens to me too. I put in El and other than the shitty gas mileage (down to single digits with in town driving) is how long it takes to crank.
