1999 Silverado 1500

I was checking out stuff under the hood of my 1999 Chevy Silverado 4wd,4.8L today and noticed this tube leaking oil what is this to?

front dif breather maybe

^ it is the vent yes

Yes it's a vent , you need to replace the vent assy in the front diff to a change up vent to prevent this ,

 

New ones have a steel floppy cover on the inside of it vs a plastic one that doesn't stay in place causing a seal,,, you'll have to remove yours to see if it's new or old ,
