2006 chevysilverado no brake lights

i have a 2006 chevy silverado 2500 HD and my brake light s are not working. i have changed bulbs, check fuses, and tested the socket and im not getting voltage to the light sockets. my center brake light on cab is working fine. what do i look for next?

Shot gun a brake light switch at it , maybe that'll stick to it

If the third brake light is working, verify that you are getting proper output at the brake light switch. If you are, then chances are it is the signal switch in the column, I think it is referred to as a combo switch or something similar. As suggested above, you may want to review a wiring diagram. My buddy told me the other week that he had to replace the signal flasher(not combo switch) on his 2005 Sierra to resolve some odd behaviour with the lights, and it is no longer a simple 2 or 3 wire 'can' type piece. It has more than 4 wires and runs near $100. Wiring diagram would help you diagnose if this part is in the circuit or not.
