Cleaning The Enging Compartment?

I did a search on the board, figured this would have been covered someplace, but couldn't seem to turn anything up.  I'd like to find out how to clean the dust/dirt out of the engine compartment.  Areas to avoid while cleaning it out, etc.  If someone could point me to the thread that covers this or answer here that would be great.  Thanks!

I didn't know there was a specific way.  Just get in there and start cleaning!  Generally, I work from top to bottom.  I use a good cleaner like Simple Green or Castrol Super Clean, a couple rags, and a set of brushes on various sizes and styles/shapes.  Then just have at it.

I'd be careful around electrical connectors.

Personally I'd stay away from powerwashing it because there are way too many electrical connectors, sensors, actuators, etc, that no matter how much you try to mask off, you'll still hit something.

From there if you're ambitious, you can break out the armor all for hoses, plastic and other components that'd look good and then something like wheel polish to cclean and polish up the stainless steel A/C accumulator, pipings and fittings.

CMNTMXR81 - Thank you for the tips as well.  Looks like spring cleaning my truck is going to take up a whole weekend!
