Just a thought

Just thinking about the whole transmission and lag issues a lot of people have. I had a 2014 Sierra and now a 2015 and i notice this one sometimes takes a second for the doors to unlock after i push the button. Or changing a song or another setting will take a couple seconds.

I also notice this one takes a couple seconds after you get on the gas, for it to accelerate.

I hate the lag when accelerating. Since this is an electronic throttle, could the problems be as simple as something like GM not putting enough memory in the computer that controls these things?

Could we upgrade the RAM or something if that were the case?

Not sure if it is the cause of the the lag issues, but kind of makes sense if it all has to go through the computer first.

Its the programming parameters GM sets from the factory...mostly I believe for fuel economy. The lag from when you push accelerator pedal, the computer instructs the throttle plate how much to open. Now with the throttle cable setup...it responded right away. What you need is to have the ECM reprogrammed....which in turn will make the throttle plate on the throttle body respond quicker to pedal position......which actually makes the truck more peppy.....

Hope this makes sense and helps you understand it better.

It's in the calibration. The high-speed CANBUS operates at a high frequency already, granted there is a bunch of traffic, but "a memory upgrade" isn't quite the answer. The stepper motor that controls the throttle butterfly valve can and will wear out or be damaged if it's operated at high sensitivity, plus it would create unwanted jerkiness at full tilt.

My 2014 gmc al terrain package gas pedal flexing because of the plastic backing . It's like having a spring under the gas pedal bracket. It's impossible to maintain highway speed also taking off from a stop its a push push go, this is a very bad problems especially on snow and ice ,I had GM field rep look at this problem he said this was normal. It's only normal when GM will not take care of the problems !!!! This is not safe to overcome the tension of the plastic bracket and the acellerator before the voltage is sent to motor.
