Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir cracked?

Before I pull the battery and rip out the reservoir, I wondered if there was a common ailment on my 2001 burb 2500. The light was on, I started filling it, but it all ran out form somewhere near the bottom..

Yes there is , it's called age !!!

I didn't look that far. I had to go wash the fluid off that splashed on my legs! I figured take out the battery and the battery plate, and the reservoir would be accessible. And clean the plate and hit it with rustoleum for good measure while I am at it..

I have seen the pump break if the washer fluid freezes.

Yes I had to take the battery out. Yes I had to take out all the front inner fender retainers.

 

It turned out that the motor was all torn apart, was not sealing or cracked, but the reservoir was intact.

 

So I had to order the motor, it comes with the grommet, and the hose going up was broke, so got one of those too.

 

And I will clean the battery plate and hit it with the puff can.

Glad u found it. That usually happens because the washer fluid froze. Be sure to get the winter stuff in before it gets cold again.

More success! Beside the pump housing cracked all up, the grommet was loose. A new pump and grommet and I am good to go, thanks.
