14-15 Silverado Smoked taillights

14-15 Silverado Tinted taillights 2 coats of tint and 3 coats of gloss. These arent all "blacked out". The reverse light section isnt smoked at all. The Silverado and Sierra taillights are different otherwise I would keep these.

Some have asked what process I used to tint these.

Here is what I did. I am not a painter but I didnt just shake the can and spray these taillights like a flat billed hat POS Honda civic owner.

 

1. wet sanded then with 2000 grit. I taped over the reverse lenses so they are stock color and you can see backing up.

2. clean them with rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover.

3. lightly spray them with night shade

4. wait 30min

5. lightly spray them with night shade again. This got the coverage I wanted and I didnt want to go any darker. You can go one more coat but they will be very dark. Dont go over 3 coats or it becomes a safety factor where people wont see your brake lights.

6. Clear coat with krylon uv protection clear gloss

7. wait an hour

8. clear coat

9. wait an hour

10. clear coat

11. wait an hour or longer. you want everything fully cured I waited overnight here.

12. wet sand again

13. cut with porter cable

14. polish with porter cable

15. wax
