Is there an available repair manual...

I have a 1995 Chevrolet K-2500, 6.5L (VIN-P),with the infamous 4L60E transmission.  Is there an available repair manual that covers the newer GM electronic transmissions?  I've checked the catalogs of both Chilton's and Haynes and they only cover as new as the 700-R4.

I bought this truck used three years ago.  It has always had a condition where, at highway speeds, as you crest a hill and it begins to free-wheel, it seems like the tranny releases from OD and drops back into third.  The engine revs until it catches up to the speed of the truck, then it shifts into OD again.  On top of that, now I'm getting consistent 2nd gear starts, failure to shift up from third, and a chattering noise when it lugs.  I've noticed that when I'm encountering the 2nd gear starts and failures to shift up, the gear select indicator on the dash is not lit.  It did this, on rare occassion, earlier and I found that if I pulled to the shoulder, stopped, shut off the truck and re-started it, it would correct the problem.  Now, that doesn't work anymore.  Any time I start the truck up and the indicator is not lit, it's a guarantee for these conditions.  Today, I went out to drive and on top of ALL of this, my tach and speedo doesn't work and the "Check Guages" light is on.

I know it's long...any thoughts?

First off, it's a 95, so your electrical problems are probably caused by a corroded battery cable. I have replaced many of these. It's a fairly common failure. It may look good, but chances are it's in bad shape on the inside. This will give you intermittent problems with your gauges, and will even give you the "no." click on occasion when trying to start it.

Or...You might have a poltergeist...Can't help you there.

As far as the tranny goes, when is the last time it was serviced? Could be as simple as your filter being clogged.

Just my .02, hope it helped.
