torsion bar crank

Recommended Posts

I want to crank my front torsion bars on my 2000 Yukon 2wd. I was wondering if I have to lift the truck up with a jack to do it, or if I can just put it up on ramps and crank from there -- or even just leave it on the ground.  Anyone who has done this or knows how, please let me know.

Were you able to get this done? I looked at my truck yesterday after putting on some BFG TA/KOs 298/75/16s and after reading several posts here. I must admit that I don't know much about this so I wasn't able to get mine done. I'm certainly willing to try but I didn't want to mess anything up. Anybody out there willing to give me a good description of what needs to be done?

I noticed my steering wheels has a slight right and left motion since I put these tires on. Not much but say at around 45mph I let the wheel go it will move right and left about 1-2 inches.

Any help is certainly appreciated.

You thought wrong.  My 2WD has torsion bars, but I haven't seen any good reason to phuck with them.
