Added nerf bars, now I need courtesy lights

I recently added N-Fab nerf bars and would like to add courtesy lighting when the doors are opened and/or the keyfob is used to unlock the truck.

I've seen posts here where guys tap the reverse light circuit to accomplish this, however my OCD won't allow me to go that route. The lights coming on while the truck is in reverse would drive me insane.

 

I'm cool with installing the lights and soldering/weatherproofing them. What I need to know is where is the best place to tap to accomplish this electrically?

Cargo light wire... Only con with this is that they'll come on when you push the switch on the overhead console. So if your goin down the road and switch it from "door" to "on" to look for something someone dropped, theyll come on. If you really want to get into it, take your for panels off, tsp the door trigger wire to power a relay and use the battery to power the lights but that'll only work when you open the doors
