Factory Bose--amp and sub

2011 Silverado Crew with Bose. Where is the amp?? Mine is not on the back wall. Also, I am installing an amp and 2 10" subs. Should I disconnect the Bose sub?

Bose amp should be under the console.

I left mine hooked up it sounds a lot better with an aftermarket radio. I turn my 12 inch subs up when I want a lil extra bang.

I was wondering if it would actually even be noticed or possibly even take away from the quality of an aftermarket system. I am replacing door speakers with Kicker and adding 2 JL Audio 10"s.

I read there are actually 2 different Bose systems. The head units are different and the amp. I read the better bose head unit is remarkably good for OEM, but no so much for the other Bose. I have the not so good Bose. How much difference will I see it going to a better head unit? Is it worth the upgrade?

It doesn't take away the any quality. The bose sub sounded 1000 times better after I added my pioneer head unit. I just turned the bass know all the way down when I have my wife or mother with me as they don't care for the bass from my 12's.

There were 2 systems. The "Premium" and "Lux". 03-07 the only way to get "Lux" was to get the Escalade or a Denali SUV. I would assume it still be the same

I also have a 06 Silverado LT3 with Bose, steering wheel controls, and onstar. I recently was able to integrate a DDin Pyle PLDNV695 (which, despite the negative reviews, has been an good deck for the cheap price (130$)) with the rest of the stock Bose system. Deck has GPS, Bluetooth, DVD, SD and USB inputs, and more. Everything works fine, minus the few bugs everyone has been complaining about, which can easily be resolved through settings. I was also forced to add a sub due to Bose's crappy low end quality. I did all this without having to buy all the pricey harness adapters.

There are a few issues I have ran into if anyone can help.

1. Does anyone have the wiring diagram or know which wires are used for steering wheel controls?

2. I have read hundreds of forums on this subject and during all my research I have discovered that the stock Bose speakers are 2ohm while the deck pushes 4ohm. I have read the negatives on running them anyway, but it seems to sound way better than the ome deck and haven't received any complications so far (one month in).

Please share some info.

If anyone needs info on my end about bypassing the Bose amp or wiring aftermarket deck without using harness adapters I'd be happy to help.
