I still wanna see someone remove the "cigarette lighter" plugs and put in round rocker switches in those spots. You could even use the factory plug flip covers to cover the switches.

There was a guy on here that did that and I wanted to do that with mine. I took the whole console apart and took that piece off but I could not get the plug part out. I dont know if there was a trick to it or what but I said f-it and installed it in the overhead fixture.

Do you have any pics of your overhead install, and was it difficult to do?

No it was super easy to do. The center piece pops out and then there are two screws that hold the unit to the roof.

I know i'm reviving the thread, but if you remember, how hard was it to get the wire up to that point? Did you feed it through the A pillar, remove the headliner?

It was really simple once the wires were in the cab. I removed the upper console and the a pillar. I ran the wire up the a pillar and with the upper console removed I was able to stick my arm in-between the headliner and roof and grab the bundle of wires.

Im going to do the same once I mount the set of pods that I have on the way. This switch will be on the other side of the airbag light.
