2014 Sierra Side View Mirror removal question

I skint the outer textured black hard plastic(lower part, upper is color matched red and only nicked it) of my rearview mirror on a stucco post. If I decide to try and replace it does the entire door panel have to come off or just the triangle shaped piece ? It isn't too bad but investigating my options. Any tips or advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

If it's powered or heated you will need to remove the door panel to get to where the wires connect.

Hey. I saw you had some questions about the plasti dip rims. I'm not sure how to use this site so this is the best way to track you down. The rims are holding up great. I'm not gentile when i clean them and i use a medium bristle brush. Typically i spray them down with a cleaner like Westley s bleach white and scrub them cause the break dust does like to stick to them. I did just use a strong degreaser a couple days ago which slightly discolored them. I am going to see if washing them again will bring back the color. If not ill just spray another coat. Through a friend who painted his dont get any brake cleaner on them. It eats it right off. But i am extremely happy with the results.

I prepped them by washing them with a degreaser then drying them. Then wiping them down with denatured alcohol. Quarters fit perfectly over the lug seats to not spray them. Then i tucked 3 x 5 index cards between the rim and tire for over spray. 5 very light coats and let them dry a couple hours and put them back on.

I havent had the tires off yet so i dont know what will happen as far as scratching. Ive seen videos on YouTube of guys in jeeps scratching the stuff off and just painting over the scratch and it didnt look bad. I havent tried my self though. The dealership hasnt messed them up rotating them either. Any other questions shoot me an email
