2015 rear diff rebuild.

First off, happy 4th of July.

 

Just curious if anyone else has had their dealer rebuild their rear diff.? I had a howl from the rear between 50-55mph only under load(loud)...Dropped it off to dealer, they told me that they called GM service tech on the phone about the issue and his course of action is to replace the rear gears. So I have a loaner 2014 till this is complete.

 

I hope this is last of this issue, cause I do like this truck.. Anyone else gone through this? Just curious of your results...

I've read somewhere about some that were not set correctly when built and needed rebuild.

Got my truck back today, long holiday weekend stretched it out. Rebuilt rear diff w/ ring and pinion, seals and bearings. Service writer said it even took more time to order the shim pack..

I must say it is now 110% better than when I took it home 3,200 miles ago. Driveline is SMOOTH.. No vibrations in gas pedal or howls from rear end.

 

Who is the TAC? That is the person the dealer called for questions when the backlash was originally ok and instructed them to order parts and perform complete rebuild....

 

Was actually very impressed with the service...
